How To Use
Your Master Book
The Master Book is designed to help you maximize the
benefits to be derived from the customized Buyers Guides
sent to you under separate cover.
Please
Note: the Master Book is for your reference only, it is not
intended that this book leave your dealership. The book
contains net prices and buying terms for all of the vendors
listed in your customized Buyer’s Guides.
This
Master Book will be the only one you will receive for the
year 2006. Updates to the pricing and or discounts will be
sent to you via email. You will be able to log in at our
intranet site (where the print and web programs are now) and
print a new page to replace the current page. You will
notice on the bottom of each page a revision number. Right
now the current revision number is 12-06. If we issue an
update for a particular page it will be revision 12-06/rev
1. There will be an index on line to show you what pages
should be updated.
The
Master Book is divided into 3 sections, each section is
described below.
Section 1: Page Lookup
Look in
this section if you want to know what vendor offers the
product's you are looking at. Start by moving to the page
where the product appears. Here you will find the vendor
designation. Once you know the vendor you can go to Section
2 to obtain detailed business practice information for that
vendor.
Section
2: Vendor Information
Look in
this section if you want to learn more about the business
practices for a particular vendor. In this section you will
find information such as: discount schedules, ordering
information, special product request requirements, shipping
terms, etc. You will also find help aids to ensure your
experience with this vendor is hassle-free.
Section
3: Miscellaneous freight, product weights and shipping
information
As
stated on other correspondence, you are not required to use
our vendor partners in this book. However, the ongoing
production of the Buyers Guide is reliant on the success
that these vendors achieve from their participation in the
program. You should, at the very least, explore the product
and service offering our vendor partners are supplying. The
vendors were chosen for their ability to cost effectively
provide superior solutions. Superior in terms of sku
selection, custom capabilities, speed and accuracy of their
delivery.
When you
order from our vendor partners it is imperative that you
always use the DL prefix before each sku you order, even if
this is not a part number that appears in the Buyer’s
Guide. If you do not use the DL prefix your will not get
credit for the sale towards next years Buyer’s Guide
allotment, nor will Direct Line get the necessary rebate
needed to continue to print the Buyer’s Guide for you free
of charge.
Additional
copies of the Maser Book are available by contacting
customer service. The Master Book will also be available
on-line in the area where you currently log in now to access
the Buyer’s Guide print and web programs.

Be
sure when you order to use the DL prefix on all parts,
listed in the Buyers Guide or sold from the manufacturer's
catalog, so that you will get credit towards your sales
volume.
